Refrigerated drying for high inlet temperatures
The RUEGO DS-VH Series dries compressed air at inlet temperatures up to 65ยฐC. It serves industrial air systems where higher inlet temperatures increase the cooling load on the dryer.
Its integrated aluminum plate-fin assembly pre-cools the incoming air, cools it to condense moisture, separates the liquid water and reheats the outgoing air.
Fixed-speed refrigeration with hot gas bypass control supports a nominal pressure dew point of 2โ10ยฐC. The air-cooled design fits industrial compressor installations without an external cooling-water circuit.
Inlet air temperature
Up to 65ยฐC
Measured where compressed air enters the dryer, after upstream cooling.
Ambient temperature
0โ38ยฐC
The surrounding air temperature range for every DS-VH model.
Size the dryer for the heat load
Hotter inlet air places a greater load on the refrigeration system. DS-VH selection combines airflow, inlet temperature, ambient temperature, pressure and the required dew point to determine the capacity needed for your production load.
Airflow and temperature
Use normal and peak airflow together with the inlet temperatures reached during production. Include the flow unit and reference basis so demand and dryer capacity use the same measurement basis.
Pressure and dew point
The series operates at 7โ13 bar with a nominal pressure dew point of 2โ10ยฐC. Select for the process dew point at the lowest operating pressure and highest expected temperatures.
Model selection
RUEGO uses your operating conditions to recommend a model from the 18-model DS-VH range. Supply the peak airflow, pressure range, maximum inlet and ambient temperatures, and target pressure dew point.
The 65ยฐC inlet rating defines the temperature limit; available airflow capacity depends on the operating conditions.
Air-cooled installation and heat removal

The condenser transfers heat from the refrigeration circuit into the surrounding air. Clear ventilation paths help carry that heat away from the dryer and maintain the 0โ38ยฐC installation environment.
Separate intake and exhaust air
Keep the condenser intake and discharge areas clear. Direct warm discharge air away from the intake to prevent recirculation in enclosed compressor rooms.
Manage heat before the dryer
Upstream cooling reduces the heat load entering the dryer. Where compressor discharge exceeds 65ยฐC, cool the air into the DS-VH inlet range before it reaches the unit.
Keep service points accessible
Leave space for cabinet access, drain maintenance and pipe connections. DS350VH and larger models use flanged connections; specify the flange standard and pipework arrangement when ordering.
Integrate DS-VH into your air system
Power and plant controls
Standard units use 50 Hz power: 220 V single-phase for DS012VHโDS085VH and 380 V three-phase for DS115VHโDS1000VH. DS038VH is rated at 220โ240 VAC and DS250VH at 380โ420 VAC. Include your site voltage, phase and frequency in the project specification.
DS026VH, DS038VH and DS250VH include RS485. Communication and remote start/stop options for other models are configured to the project requirements.
Filtration and continuous operation
Pair the dryer with compressed air filters suited to the required particle and oil-mist control. Maintain condensate drains throughout the system. For continuous-production projects, include standby capacity and maintenance bypass requirements in the system plan.
